The type of television mount one chooses totally depends on the purchaser’s personal choice; something which goes with the room and the viewing angle wanted. Mounts are available in the market for LCD, Plasma or any other TV set. The mounts come in different styles and designs. The Swivel TV mount and Tilt TV mounts are somewhat similar because both mounts are capable of moving the TV set and changing the viewing angle, but still there is a difference.

Televisions are the most essential home entertainment devices where one can watch all the entertainment channels, movies and also play video games. Thus having it well mounted is a good idea. Swivel type mounting saves ground space and you can rotate your television set sideways with ease. Your TV wires are also not visible giving it a clean look. One can sit in any corner of the room and swivel the TV set directed towards them to enjoy the viewing experience. Some of these mounts even provide the facility to move the set in and out.i.e. www.audiovideoking.com

The tilt TV mount on the other hand handles the television set like a see-saw. You can tilt it down while watching television from a lower level or tilt it upwards if you want to watch it from a higher level. The installation bracket consists of a pivot right in the middle which does this trick. Both these mounts are costlier than the normal low-profile mount. If one wants both the horizontal and vertical movements, full-motion mount is the answer to it.

One of the latest trends which the television manufacturing companies are following is the internet ready television set. The market of these television sets with web facility is estimated to grow by 14% in the U.S in the year 2012. One requires no additional investment on wiring or hardware after purchasing an internet ready TV.

What is an internet ready TV? The answer is pretty simple. Many manufacturing companies join hands with the famous web outlets and provide rich internet content for their customers. This content is limited to few websites only; one cannot browse any website he/she wants to. There is no need to connect your PC to the television set. Usually all the widely day-to-day used websites have partnered with the well known television manufacturing brands.i.e. www.audiovideoking.com

Some of the TV brands which are into this internet ready TV business are Sony Bravia, Samsung, LG, Sharp, Panasonic and many more. Samsung internet ready TV’s are providing Yahoo and Flicker while you have Sony Bravia offering you to browse You Tube website along with Amazon- video on Demand. Companies keep on trying to join a partnership with various websites to increase the internet content and thus get more customers. Along with the usual TV watching experience one can enjoy net surfing without any hassle. You are just a click away from viewing the list of contents of internet browsing on your television screen. This new trend has succeeded and is going to bring a new era to the world of television viewing and internet browsing.

Q We’re going to buy a new TV and want to go big-screen. Which is greener, a plasma or LCD TV?

A It depends on the particular plasma or LCD (liquid crystal display) TV.

The Seattle-based environmental website www.grist.org suggests:

• Energy Star TVs. Requirements for televisions became more stringent last November, and Energy Star TVs are touted as “up to 30 percent more efficient than nonqualified models.” So they are an obvious good choice. The Energy Star website (www.energystar.gov) lists all certified models in a comparison chart and also provides an energy savings worksheet.

• Screen size. When per-inch consumption is measured, LCD televisions are more efficient than plasma. Screen size is key to power consumption; a smaller plasma, for instance, will be comparable to a larger LCD. A 42-inch plasma TV can cost as much to operate as a 25-cubic-foot refrigerator. Some plasma manufacturers are working on the issue. Panasonic, for example, is showing a more efficient plasma TV in its 2009 line, but be sure to compare.

• Think about manufacturing impacts. LCDs contain a bit of mercury, and their manufacture uses the potent greenhouse gas nitrogen trifluoride (NF3); plasma screens can contain lead (although Panasonic has apparently found a way around that).

• Be aware of phantom energy use. These TVs can drain power even when off, especially if they are hooked up to cable, satellite or a gaming station. Get around that by unplugging the set and its components or by plugging the TV into a power strip and turning off the strip.

• Let it grow old, then recycle. No matter which TV you pick, keep your TV as long as possible. When the end comes, be sure to recycle it. By that (hopefully, far away) date, there’s likely to be a disposal system that will easily and safely handle the components of your plasma or LCD TV to keep it from adding to any toxic burden on the planet.

Televisions, since time immemorial, have ruled our living areas. After having had a hectic day outside, most families cuddle up together at dinner time and have an enjoyable TV viewing experience. However, with passage of time and introduction of technology, people now prefer to save floor space- which means that the television with all its accessories needs to go up the wall. With previous heavy TV sets this idea seemed impossible but with the new plasma, LCD or LED TV’s- this imagination has come true. You can now actually have TV sets installed on the wall, save a lot of space and yet have an excellent viewing experience! Nevertheless, nothing comes in handy. A lot of cautions must be undertaken before you install your TV on the wall. The major precautions to be observed have been mentioned below-

Firstly, it is always considered better to either hire a professional to do the mounting job or go strictly by the installation guidebook. It is only the expert opinion provided here which must be thoroughly read, observed and practiced.

Purchase a wall mount kit. Not only would this guide you through the entire process but not being able to follow this kit could result in serious damage caused to your TV and other equipment.i.e. www.audiovideoking.com

Do not place the TV in direct sunlight or near other electric outlets. This may cause a short circuit due to the intermixing of wires. Ensure that the electric points are at a safe distance from your television.

Precautions, as they say, are much better than cure. It is always preferable to exercise these before you mount your TV set on the wall.

When you have bought the right home theater system or an LCD or Plasma TV and placed it at the appropriate place, time for you to decide which cables to opt for. A proper match will result in quality output which will give you the feel of theater at home. The confusion arises when one has to make a choice between HDMI cables and component cables. Both are widely used for home entertainment systems.

HDMI stands for high definition multimedia interface. These cables are capable of transmitting audio as well as video signals simultaneously which the analogue Scart leads could not manage. They are designed to provide unbreakable signal connectivity along with longevity. If you coat it with gold, it will improve its performance. It is made to support any format of video signal for your TV or PC. They are compatible with almost any home entertainment systems and thus come in handy while connecting them to each other. The cost range varies according to the grade.

The format on which the component cables are based on is analog format. Thus they are not compatible with HDMI cables. The component cables have voltage signals which form a wave pattern due to the analog signal; the changes occurred in height is a key factor. These component connections are quite underrated though they are capable of delivering superior quality picture; good as HDMI cables. The longer component cables are more promising; 25 feet or more.i.e.www.audiovideoking.com

Both HDMI cable and component cable are good in what they meant for, which one to go for is totally up to the owner of the home entertainment system.

Technology changes according to time. First it was flat TV, then it came high definition TV and now 3D TV. Still it will take some time for technology to catch up to 3D TV. And this is not because of price. But, still it is too expensive for the mass market at this point of time when the economy has far from recovered. Also there is no transmission in 3D currently and it will be a while before studio’s and TV stations start broadcasting in 3D.

The fact is also that you had to be tied up with an LCD shutter glasses to view 3D content makes 3D-TV technology not so much user-friendly for everyday use. The glasses cost $149 and for a family of four it would be additional $600 to watch 3D TV. They have to design the TV to have the same screen as on the glasses so people do not have to wear glasses.

In addition, the way 3D technology is implemented through the use of shutter LCD glasses may make someone suffer from ill effects – including headache, this apart is that a few exceptional viewers will not be able to see the 3D effect at all. In other words, before investing in a 3D TV, you definitely need to ensure that the technology as implemented by the respective TV maker works for your need.i.e. www.audiovideoking.com

This is also a fact that consumer who is reluctant to upgrade to one of the latest 3D TVs is not just having to pay a premium for a TV before getting back their money’s worth due to lack of 3D content.

Finally, for bargain hunters, the situation is somewhat different. Buying a premium 2009 HDTV at a deeply discounted price in 2010 – before the new models start to fill stores shelves – is the best way to enjoy a great deal! And at a time when the economy has still to recover, a good bargain is always worth doing.

More and more people are realizing how much of a difference having an LCD tv over an old CRT can have on their viewing experience. The biggest problem facing people who want to buy a new LCD though is the sheer number of options that are at their disposal when they go to purchase one of these tvs. From my experience selling LCD tvs and having to deal with the problems that they develop here are my tips for looking at LCDs.

My first piece of advice is to remember that brand isn’t everything. I have had some people return the best selling brand of LCD at the time and pick up an offbrand one and be happier with it. You have to remember that even though the numbers say differently that what is important is how the picture looks to you. Another good thing to know is that the contrast ratio that you will see on most LCD tv signs isn’t exactly correct. The problem with contrast ratio is that there is no industry wide way to measure it, and so you will have two different tvs that have different contrast ratios but will have the same quality picture.

My last piece of advice is to always request to hear what the tv that you are looking at sounds like. The biggest difference that I personally have noticed among LCD tvs (in particular the two best selling brands) is that while Samsung TVs do produce more noise, Sony seems to have better quality sound. Something interesting to note is that Panasonic LCDs and sound systems have a unique feature that I haven’t seen on any other LCD brand, the center audio channel has a bamboo diaphram in the speaker and it gives voices a better quality than others that I’ve compaired it to.

Mounting a video projector on the ceiling is the best way to keep it out of the way and from taking over the space in your living room. You need to be very patient and follow a well planned procedure to mount the video projector correctly and safely. The process of mounting the video projector is discussed below:

STEP I:

Choose the mount that is designed perfectly to work with your video projector. Mark the point at which your video projector will be mounted on the ceiling such that the projector must be at the same height as the screen on which the final image will be projected. Make sure that the centre of your video projector’s lens is at the center of your screen horizontally.i.e. www.audiovideoking.com

STEP II:

Attach the mount to the video projector with the help of bolts which are attached with the threaded mounting holes on your video projector. Depending upon your video projector and type of mount, you can also use chains and clamps to add greater stability.

STEP III:

Now, attach the video cables and electrical cord that have been pulled out from ceiling hole to the appropriate points on your video projector.

STEP IV:

Mount the ceiling mount to your ceiling properly with the help of tools and parts provided to you with your kit. Make sure that the mounting is secure and the location on ceiling is strong enough to hold your video projector safely.

STEP V:

Turn on your video projector to check whether it’s getting proper power and video signal or not. You can adjust the focus and other settings by looking at the image being projected on the screen.

Follow this simple procedure to mount your video projector in order to make the best out of it.

Because of LCD’s thin nature, they quite look charming when mounted on the wall or ceiling of your room. It even saves space and gives to a
different experience from the monotonous way of viewing the television by placing it on the table.

For this purpose LCD mounts are of great use. A mount is a strong heavy piece of metal which holds the already heavy LCD. Each mount uniquely designed for specific brands and models of televisions. Before buying a mount it is better to cross check its compatibility with the LCD.i.e. www.audiovideoking.com

A mount has to be nailed into the studs on the wall, as the LCD is a heavy piece of equipment. We need to make sure that the mount is firmly placed into the stud or else in no time the LCD would crash to the floor. When the LCD is place on the mount, brackets that are attached to the back of the LCD which ensure the safety of the LCD. The mount supports the weight of the LCD, while the studs support the weight of both LCD and the mount. There are mounts which are designed to change the angle of view of the television. These mounts are no different from the regular mounts except for a mechanical arm, when the LCD is placed on the arm. It enables to change the angle of view. The only drawback of this design
is that the LCD will project out from the wall more than before which will eat up some space.

Gone are the days of mixed sound tracks it is now big time for
surround sound systems where you could enjoy clear music. Surround
sound 7.1 is the recent addition to the market it consists of 7
speakers and 1 sub woofer.
If you have ample area behind the usual listening space a 7.1
configured surround sound system would give you a better music
experience. The two rear speakers in this configuration will diverge
the surround sound which produces a broad sound filed. One can better
distinguish the sounds when the set up located behind the listening
environment rather than directly behind the viewer/listener.
There is a contradicting discussion on usage of the 7.1 configuration
surround sound system in homes.i.e. www.audiovideoking.com
A 7.1 surround system is perfect for film exhibitions or for large
scale theater performances. It will make you completely immerse in the
movie or an act.
But it is completely worthless if surround sound system 7.1 is used
for small room spaces. You will not find the difference between a 5.1
and a 6.1 configuration. The essence of the audio truly gets enhanced
only in the case of the audio tracks that are specially designed for
such configurations.
It even costs you a lot for maintaining a 7.1 configuration as it
requires more power and a surround pre amp processor along with a
multichannel power amp in order to minimize the clipping of sound.
As there are only fewer DVD’s coded for 6.1 and probably none for the
7.1 configuration. The 7.1 configuration is more like a marketing
hype.
