Factors To Consider Before Mounting Your TV

Mount my TV Screen

Some things you want to consider before mounting your tv include:

  • The size of the TV
  • The Distance
  • Angle

Below, we’ve explained all of those factors in a little more detail so you get a better understanding of how high your tv should be mounted.

Size of the TV

The size of the TV is something that obviously needs to be considered when deciding how high you should mount my tv screen.

You’ll need to know the size of your TV, as this is an important factor in how high you should mount my TV screen. Make sure that you are not judging from the floor to the top or bottom of the tv, but instead the center.

Your TV size also represents how you view it diagonally. Then, use a tape measure to see how far and over the center of the screen is.

Distance

Another factor that needs to be considered is the distance between the floor and your TV. To find the right size, we will also need the size as that is what the calculation is based on.

Also, make sure you are measuring the distance from where you are sitting when you are watching the tv.

To calculate the distance, take your TV size and divide it by 0.55. For example, for a 42″, the perfect distance is 76″ away. The bigger your tv, the further the distance. But, just use that calculation, and you’ll be able to find the ideal distance for your TV.

Angle

Make sure that you are calculating your eye level, while you are sitting not standing.

To do this, measure the distance from where you will be sitting, to the TV.

Some prefer looking upwards, others prefer looking rather straight. The maximum viewing angle that you want to go for is 30°. That being said, most people prefer angles between 10° and 15°. If you’re unsure, we suggest going for an angle in this range that feels right.

If you want to be safe, you can ask someone else to hold up an object against the wall while you are sitting down to help you get the ideal height.

In general, you will want a 42″ television to be mounted about 56″ from the floor to the center of the screen. From here, just use these ratios to figure out the right height for your TV.
